Starting August 5th, you can watch a series based on Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman on Netflix. This is about Dream (Tom Sturridge), the master of dreams, who as Sandman gives shape to our deepest fears and fantasies. But while he is unexpectedly trapped for a century, a nightmare (Boyd Holbrook) takes on a life of his own and Dream must travel through different worlds and times to find him again. In the Netflix series, you will meet many familiar faces: we see Gina Coleman from “Doctor Who”, Gwendoline Christie from “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and Charles Dance from “Game of Thrones”.
At least since the “Squid Game” we know what South Korean soap operas can do: “Café Minamdang” will be released on August 1 and will consist of 18 episodes. Each episode is about 60 minutes long and contains a lot of excitement and drama. The mystery series follows former analyst Han Joon (Seo In-guk), who now works as a fraudulent fortune teller, and persistent policewoman Han Jae Hee (Oh Yeon-seo), who becomes aware of his suspicious activities.

“a league of their own”
Tom Hanks fans may remember the 1992 movie “A League of Their Own” – starting August 12, the classic will also be available as a series. This comedy-drama follows a group of women who dream of becoming professional baseball players during World War II. Among the series’ cast members are Patrick J. Adams (“Suits”), Abby Jacobson (“Disenchantment”), and Melanie Field (“You”). Rosie O’Donnell, the star of the movie of the same name, is also set to star in the adaptation.
Once the final season of “The Next German Supermodel” is over, Heidi Klum can be seen once again on the home screens. Teaming up with fashion consultant Tim Jan, the model is looking for designers from around the world who have what it takes to build the next big fashion brand. The main setting for Season 3, which will be released on August 19 on Amazon Prime Video, is among other things, the Los Angeles California fashion hotspot.
Just under a month between the furious ending of “Ms. Marvel” and the beginning of “She-Hulk”: The Marvel series about attorney Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) will be released on August 17 on the Disney+ streaming platform. Daily life becomes difficult for the superhuman rights lawyer, as she transforms into a green two-meter hulk in stressful situations. In order to be able to better handle her superpowers, she takes lessons from her cousin and MCU star Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). The trailer presented at San Diego Comic-Con shows Charlie Cox as Daredevil also part of the “She-Hulk” series.
Attention “Star Wars” fans: “Andor” begins on August 31, 2022. The film tells the prequel to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and is about the beginnings of the rebellion against the Empire. Actor Diego Luna also returns in ‘Star Wars’ as Cassian Andor. He was among a group of rebels who managed to steal the Death Star’s plans – a crucial step in the fight against the Empire. Follow a Rebel Alliance spy as he discovers what he can do and when he evolves into a hero.

Parenting isn’t easy: Ally (Daisy Haggard) and Paul Worsley (Martin Freeman) know it, too, as between sleepless nights, mortgage payments, and work appointments, they desperately try to take control of everyday life with the kids. The third season of the British-American comedy series Breeders, produced by Martin Freeman, Chris Addison and Simon Blackwell, will be released on August 16. From this date onwards, the show will take place every Tuesday in double episodes on Sky Comedy and can also be accessed via streaming service Wow (formerly Sky Ticket) and Sky Q.
“Accident, suicide, or murder”
If you love listening to true crime podcasts, you can’t get enough of this series. In the documentary series Accident, Suicide or Murder, real criminal offenses are re-examined to clarify the exact circumstances of the mysterious deaths: was it an accident, a tragic suicide, or a malicious murder? Narrator Amanda Duarte guides viewers through the violence that grips season three. One being the death of a famous Nebraska High School volleyball coach in an alleged traffic accident. The investigation leads the officers to similar, chilling cases – are they all related? The new season of the crime documentary will be available on Sky Crime from August 16th.
House Party X: Who has the best atmosphere?
The unbridled social experiment enters the second round: “House Party X: Who’s Got the Best Vibe? It’s getting a new season, available to watch on Joyn starting August 18. Youtuber and influencer Jonas Wuttke invited 13 social media stars and two wildcard winners to a luxury villa in Ibiza for ten hours. Famous faces like Shaiden Rogue, Kevin Bongers, and Larissa Neumann will be there. Influencers celebrate with a loud house party and after every hour they choose someone who does not fit in with the rest of the group and therefore has to leave the villa. Whoever is left in the end is chosen as the most ferocious animal and won 10,000 euros for a good reason.
Sofia Tomala can already look back on a turbulent year: on the one hand, she successfully directed the song “Are You The One?” On the other hand, she had to watch her boyfriend Alexander Zverev suffer a serious ligament injury at the French Open.
