German Television Award: ZDF wins two awards

Mainz (ots) – On “Creativity Night” on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, ZDF was awarded two German television awards.

The TV movie “The Wannsee Conference” won the German Television Award in the “Best Fiction Book” category (Magnus Vattrodt and Paul Mommertz). ZDF screened the film Mate Jeschonik on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the historic Wannsee Conference in January 2022. Based on Adolf Eichmann’s “Meeting Protocol”, the film describes the meeting of senior representatives of the Nazi regime on January 20, 1942 in a villa in Berlin Wannsee. The theme was the systematic mass murder of millions of Jews in Europe, which the Nazis called the “Final Solution to the Jewish Question.” “The Wannsee Conference” is a co-production with Konstantin Konstantin Channel (Producer: Oliver Perben). ZDF Editors: Frank Zervos and Stefanie von Heydwolff.

In the “Best Written Entertainment” category, Marcus Hennig, Hannah Herbst, Nora Nagel and Jan Böhmermann were honored for “ZDF Magazin Royale” (ZDF/Entertainment Television Ehrenfeld/Group 5 Film Production). Jan Böhmermann has been welcoming his audience to his late-night satire on ZDF since November 2020. Away from current political events, Böhmermann addresses major socially relevant topics in a surprising and funny way in “ZDF Magazin Royale” and kicks off discussions. The editors are Carolina Salamon and Konstantin Thelin.
