Germany plans in 2022 and 2023

Amazon Prime Video announced plans for several products at a spin-off. However, it was primarily about shows and documentaries, and less about previously unannounced series.

Streaming service Amazon Prime Video has announced plans for the German market for 2022 and 2023 at a presentation event in Berlin. They work with well-known names for some show formats, comedy projects and documentaries. The announcement that Discover+ will be launching soon with Prime Video as an additional option for Prime members is very exciting for series addicts, and Paramount+ will soon follow. However, the discovery focuses more on reality.

The series and formats below were previously announced but received small updates at the event. Some now have specific start dates and some are approximate.

The Griffin

The six-part German fantasy series based on a novel by Wolfgang Hohlbein will begin on Prime Video in mid-2023. Der Greif is produced by W&B Television in collaboration with DogHaus Film for Amazon Studios, and creators of shows and series are Erol Yesilkaya and Sebastian Marka.


The gangster saga began on the Reeperbahn in the 1980s in the spring of 2023. Luden’s high-end six-part series is produced by NEUESUPER, and producers are Rafael Parenti, Simon Amberger and Corbinian Duffer.


It will begin in the fall of 2023, the six-part psychological thriller series based on Sebastian Fitzek’s bestselling book of the same name. The Amazon original series is realized by Ziegler Film. The series is produced by Regina Ziegler (“to cutWeissensee) and Barbara Thielen (“passenger 23“,”Amsterdam crime thriller“).

German Crime Story: Bound

in “German crime storyIt is the first true crime series produced by Prime Video from Germany. In early 2023, Prime members will watch a six-part series produced by Neue Bioskop Television exclusively for Prime Video. The main roles are played by Oliver Masucci and Angelina Hansch, the producer is Dietmar Günche.

Apache stays the same

The original 90-minute documentary begins on September 23, 2022 and provides the first insight into the life of Volkan Yaman aka Apache 207, one of the most streamed German rap stars of the moment. The 90-minute Amazon Original documentary was produced by W&B Television on behalf of Amazon Studios.


The second season of antagonists and their crazy daily lives will begin at Feinkost Kolinski in Altona on November 11th. The exclusive series, nominated for a Grimme and Blue Panther, is produced by Christian Ulmen and Carsten Kelber for Pajama Pictures.


There is a start date for the movie Love. Starting November 18, 2022, Prime members will be able to watch the film, which was shot in Vienna and Berlin, by DCM Pictures for Amazon Studios. Max Hubacher and Maeve Metelka play the main roles. The producers are Kirstin Wille, Christoph Daniel, and Marc Schmidheiny.

love addicts

Episodes of the new comedy Love Addicts with Annette Freer, Malaya Stern Takeda, Dimitri Abold, Magdalena Lubisch and Anselm Prescott will be available on Prime Video starting November 30, 2022. The eight-and-a-half-hour episodes of the new comedy series Love Addicts with Annette Frier and Malaya Stern Takeda and Dimitri Abold, Magdalena Laubisch, and Anselm Bresgott.

Peaceful Christmas

Prime Video’s first Christmas series begins on December 9, 2022 with all six episodes in a row. The original series was produced by The Amazing Film Company and producer Thomas Peter Friedl. Actors include Valerie Hopper, Timor Bartels, Uwe Ochsenknecht, Esther Schwens, and Wayne Karpendale.

Save Me (AT)

Filming started here recently. The main cast is Harriet Herbig-Maten and Damien Hardong. The six-part series is produced by UFA Fiction, and produced by Ceylan Yildirim and Markus Brunnemann.
