Netflix News: The streaming service offers a subscription model with ads

In response to the increased competition, Netflix is planning a new subscription model. According to information from the “New York Times”, the streaming service wants to introduce an advertising tariff at the end of 2022, the prices of which should be lower than the base tariff. Therefore, this, as well as all other existing subscription models, should remain ad-free. The so-called account sharing, that is, sharing the subscription with more people than stipulated in the tariff, must also be associated with additional costs in the future. A corresponding feature is already being tested in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru.

Try Netflix: Is the first month really free?

If you want to try Netflix first, you can simply take advantage of the free trial membership. After that, users have 30 days to test series and movies at their leisure before deciding whether or not to subscribe. All content is available for free during the month of testing.

To use the trial subscription, you must first create an account. Among other things, the email address, password and payment details are also stored. The latter is especially important because a free subscription automatically becomes a paid subscription after the 30-day expiration date. If necessary, be sure to cancel your trial subscription in time.

Netflix: Can I Save Costs?

Apart from the trial subscription, Netflix does not offer any discounted tariffs, for example to pupils or students. If you still want to save, you can at least split your account (as a standard or premium subscription) among several people and thus split the costs. Sharing subscriptions are allowed provided the people live in the same house.
