RTLZWEI Costs ‘X-Factor – The Ungraspable’ Sequel With Jonathan Frakes

Munich, 6 July 2022 Almost 24 years have passed since the first episode of the American mystery series “X-Factor: The Unfathomable” appeared on German screens for the first time. Meanwhile, the format has achieved cult status and continues to inspire a huge fan base to this day. The format runs regularly on Sunday mornings and during event programming for Halloween and still impresses audiences 20 years after the end of production.
RTLZWEI is now bringing the classic to new life: Filming for a total of eight new episodes will begin August 1, produced by W&B Television in collaboration with SUPERAMA FILM. The original English version was filmed in and around Los Angeles with American actors. As in previous episodes, the show is hosted by Jonathan Frakes.

Executive Producers Quirin Berg, Max Wiedemann, and Benjamin Munz are responsible for the eight new episodes. Showrunner is Superama Film’s Holger Frick, who is also coming out again. As lead author, Bernd Blaschke leads the large writers’ room, consisting of Julia Nica Neviant and Axel Melzner (“Dunkelstadt”), Olivia Wieg (“Endzeit”), Kristen Bibersack (“Die Scouts”), Lacey Nolte (“Kalkofes Mattscheibe”) and Carsten Vauth (“If We Were Children”), Benni Diez (“Stung”), Matthias Dinter (“Einstein”), Benjamin Karalic (“Der Knast”), and the Mondo23 Authors’ Association (including SOKO Leipzig”). X-Factor is Television production for W&B in association with Superama Film and Friendly Filmworks for RTLZWEI.
The new season will air shortly after production ends.
