On June 24, 2022, pop star Roland Kaiser will perform as part of an outdoor tour called “Our Summer” in Eisenhutenstadt. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the stadium in Waldstraße, which will be transformed into a concert arena.

Two days before the huge concert, sweat was already starting to fall on the stadium. The stage, which was transported from Chemnitz to Eisenhutenstadt in individual parts by four 40-ton trucks, must finally be assembled. The theater measures 25 meters by 11 metres, explains Erik Höfer of Wonneberger. The site manager, which has a team of about 15 people initially, says it takes two and a half days to set up and a day and a half to take it apart “otherwise it wouldn’t be done”. While they certainly fall asleep from physical exhaustion, organizer Stefan Reschke finds no rest at night. The excitement is so great. Even though he wouldn’t be on stage, he still had stage fright. “What’s going on here is crazy,” he said as he prepared the concession stand. There will be a total of 13 drink holders on prom night, and five food stalls will ensure that no visitor has a stomach ache.

Party starts at 8pm, entry from 5pm. He also recommends arriving early, then relaxing and spreading it all over the entrance area. Drinks and food stalls will already be open. And there is a surprise: “There will be a box office,” says Stefan Reschke, who was not sure until the end whether he would succeed. “And thanks to EDL, there will also be 100 emergency seats at the box office with seat cushions that will also be distributed.” Chairs, umbrellas or blankets are not permitted. It refers specifically to this prohibition. Smuggling of drinks is also not permitted.

Stefan Reschke is very grateful to the Guardians of the Earth. “They work really hard here and they fixed everything here days ago.” Then his eyes lit up: “You’ll look great here on the 24th!” If you are a little further from the podium in the stadium, you can see what is happening follow the screen.

But where can visitors arriving by car find parking? Additional space will be provided by City Center and Roller Market. The parking spaces behind the Nordpassage shopping center can only be used by concert visitors and must be marked.

According to Stefan Reschke, there will be present at the parking lot there and at the scooter market next door. If you want to be on the safe side, you can also use the town hall’s central plaza for parking. From there it is about 1.5 km walk to the stadium which takes about 15 minutes.

Anyone who wants to drive straight to the stadium, Waldstraße 1, to look for a hole somewhere in front of it, has bad luck. In order to secure the event entry area, there will be a complete blockage of vehicular traffic on Waldstraße between Haus des Sports and Alte Poststraße from 9am on June 24 to about 7am on June 25. Sportweg will also be closed to ensure emergency and rescue services are operating properly.
