Pokémon GO: Coming soon new monsters and monster balls

In Pokémon GO, you may soon be able to look forward to new monsters and balls, as it showcases current discoveries. We at MeinMMO have looked at what this is all about and explained it to you.

What are the discoveries? In Pokémon GO, the Pokéminers, a group of data makers, regularly search the game’s code for new information. They finally posted this on their homepage and social networks.

Now Pokéminers are looking for changes again and they come across a new Pokémon, but also a new ball and tokens in the game.

These are the new discoveries

super ball: As Reddit user Martycochrane mentioned in his post, Pokéminers have come across new tokens and items in the game in their current quest. So you can see, among other things, a new raid egg of the fifth level “Epic” in the photo in his post. New Petals and Grass as well as game hints have also been added to the game.

However, a special blue and yellow ball in the upper left corner can be particularly noticeable. This is the so-called “super ball” with which you can better catch Ultra Beasts. It should create a special effect that can also be seen in drawings of Pokéminers.

This Ultra Ball can also be found in the cartoon and in the Pokémon games “Sun and Moon”. If you want to use it to catch the Ultra Beast, this ball is about 5 times more effective than a regular Pokeball. On the other hand, it is difficult to get other Pokemon with this ball, because the chance of catching it is only 0.1.

In addition, PokéMiners announced on Twitter that this item has been added as an in-game item, but with access from level 100. However, this cannot be achieved by coaches (yet). It remains to be seen if and when the element will be triggered.

2 new pokemon have been found

But the discovery about the Ultra Ball wasn’t the only news Pokéminers discovered in the game’s code. Two new Pokemon from the eighth generation of games have also been found: Axantor and Ursaluna.

Anyone who plays the main Pokémon series on the Nintendo Switch as well as Pokémon GO already knows the monsters from Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

What kind of Pokemon is Accenture? Axantor is a Bug and Rock pokemon. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it can be upgraded from Scyther using Black Augite, a special item.

You can recognize the Axantor by its large, brown, grasshopper-like body. Also remarkable are the axes that Kid carries in her arms.

What kind of pokemon Ursula? The Ground and Normal Pokémon Ursaluna also comes from the eighth generation of games and can evolve from Teddiursa and Ursaring. To do this, in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you use a block of peat during a full moon.

Ursaluna visually resembles a large bear with brown fur. The round, golden-yellow spot on its forehead is also reminiscent of a full moon, which matches the name.

“Hopefully this is a sign of more.”

These two discoveries have been well received in the reddit community. Even if the first super monster is already available for GO Fest 2022, many trainers are now hoping for more. So you can read the following in the comments on reddit:

  • tkcom: “The first new ball since the first ball in 2017.”
  • TheMadJAM: “I hope this is a sign of more.”
  • 128thMic: “I wonder if this new ball will replace the balls that Anego got trapped in, or if it’s just a one-off.”
  • ArcanineFan01: “It seems strange to introduce Ultra Balls now and not where Anego was in the raids, but at least they added them.”
  • DarkKnightMcKenyan: “Finally a new ball and that makes sense.”

And some trainers will also be happy about the new Pokémon and are already thinking in the comments about how to develop it (via reddit.com):

  • KonoPez: “I wonder what evolution method they would use? Sinnoh Stone would make sense to her and Snieboss. I’m sure Salmagnis, Damythir and Myriador would be long missions.”
  • electric_emu: “A Sinnoh Brick would make sense, but we hope Niantic doesn’t try to repeat the hassle of getting a peat block and waiting for a full moon to send us like in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.”
  • davebybab: “I’ve been fortunate to have kept a lot of decent Scythers from Legends: Arceus, hope Axantor comes in handy.”

JRE47 is already thinking about the set of movements and writes:

My first thoughts

There are still a lot of unknowns, but here’s the good news:

Ursaluna will definitely have Shadow Claw (the only other fast moves you can learn are Rock Smash and Tackle), and have some excellent charging moves. When not equipped with Hyper Beam and Ace of Air, it looks good!

The Axantor has a slightly more potential for getting behind bad quick moves (Air Slash & Shatter), but if you get a Psycho Blade or even a Quick Attack Slam, that’s fine. As far as attacking moves go, we have a brawl and then all of those. There is potential here.

As always, the Pokéminers’ finds are not official information. While this data has largely been confirmed in the past, Niantic can still change it or choose not to activate it.

As soon as more information is available about a possible release, you will of course find out from us on MeinMMO.

What do you think of the new monsters and the super ball? Do you hope they will be introduced in the game soon? Or did you prefer other things? Let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO and talk to other coaches about it.

On the weekend, Community Day will fill you up with Capono and give you a special surprise. Pokémon GO brings back Level 4 raids, but with a caveat. We’ve taken a look at what that is.
