Consequences of COVID-19: UNICEF fears more child labour

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) fears that internationally banned child labor will increase dramatically around the world. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said that, according to estimates, the economic consequences of the Corona epidemic may force another nine million girls and boys into child labor by the end of this year. According to the information, 160 million children around the world already work instead of going to school – the number increased by 8.4 million from 2016 to 2020. The increase is due, among other things, to the global economic disruption as a result of dealing with the pandemic, which also leads to lower wages.

The value of falling into Schleswig-Holstein rises to more than 500

The incidence of corona in Schleswig-Holstein increased to a value of 504.6. This stems from information from the state registry office and Kiel University (as of Thursday evening). A week ago, the number of new infections recorded per 100,000 inhabitants was about 458 within seven days. According to the RKI, Schleswig-Holstein still has the highest rate among the federal states. 3,823 new cases of Schleswig-Holstein were registered within 24 hours.

When interpreting the current number of cases, it is worth noting that there are fewer tests and reports due to the holidays.
