Alternative race for “Rund um das Muldental” on June 18
Frimdiswald.Cycling has a long history in Muldental. The “Rund um das Muldental” race cannot be held for the next few years due to bridge construction work on the A14 motorway over Mulde. The board of directors and active members of the Muldental Grimma cycling community have organized an alternative – because what usually sleeps dies.

On Saturday, June 18, the Sparkasse Classics cycling race “Around Fremdiswalde” will take place. Nine different races will start from 12 noon until 7 pm. Young athletes of the respective age groups have several beginnings. In Race 5, hobbyists can cycle over 45 kilometers (five laps) starting at 2:25 pm.

At 4pm, a fat tire race or a balanced bike race of over 200m will be offered for children aged two to four years. This is followed by a 600m race for children aged 5-7. At 4:10 p.m., the Little Peace Race is held, a fat tire race of over 1,000 metres. Students in grades 1-4 or 5-10 are eligible to start school.

A tire width of at least 30 mm applies to all children’s races. A bicycle or mountain bike tour is permitted without listings. The best will be honored with non-cash prizes. For all other participants, helmets are mandatory in these competitions! Bicycles must be checked and fit to walk. Even the oily chain rolls better, after all, children should have a positive experience.
At 4.20pm, the elite amateur race event stepped in. Experienced and savvy treadmills will strive for victory. Ten laps and a total of 90 km drive. Final start is 4.25pm for the U19 and Senior classes 2/3/4 split races over 63km (seven laps). Here viewers can experience the lives of successful RSG Muldental Grimma cyclists at their doorstep.
The road, starting at the village community center in Fremdiswalde, leads through Wagelwitz and Cannewitz to the destination in Fremdiswalde. There will be complete closure during the entire period from 12 noon to 7 pm. There is a parking ban on the entire road. Residents of Fremdiswalde Nos.2 to 13 and 91 to 93 and at Alte Dorfstraße Cannewitz (K8313 until the end of town) are required to park outside the racing area.

The only exception is the Wagelwitz access road due to which there is no alternative. During racing breaks – around 12.35 to 12.50 pm, from 2.10 pm to 2.25 pm and from 4.00 pm to 4.20 pm – residents and visitors coming from the Rhoda direction are allowed to drive from the Wagelwitz Junction on District Road K8324 from the Wagelwitz Junction in the direction of Wagelwitz. Closures and traffic regulations are implemented by police forces.

Depending on the condition of the race, servicing may be permitted to drive on the track. However, it is advised not to leave or park vehicles on the road. During racing breaks, driving on the track is generally only permitted in the direction of the race – that is, clockwise! Despite these restrictive measures, we ask for your understanding. The organizer endeavors to keep all disabilities as low as possible.
