Exciting plot starring Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan | June 03 8:15 pm | S1

This is what it’s about: The successful ghost writer “Ghost” (Ewan McGregor) to take up work on the former prime minister’s memoirs after the previous author had an accident. In his home, Ghost begins to grapple with the life of a controversial politician. Meanwhile, allegations against the former prime minister of torture and war crimes are circulating in the press. A seemingly routine job becomes increasingly dangerous, then Ghost uncovers a global conspiracy at his predecessor’s estate.

Worth watching for the following reasons: Roman Polanski Based on the British author’s novel The Ghost. Robert Harris It brought a strong thriller with a lot of British understatement to the screen. Strictly and without much effort, the film develops its tension slowly and almost casually.

Writing is in the foreground here and doses of work in ‘The Ghost Writer’. Through clever and subtle dialogue, often unsaturated with a bit of humor, the viewer is guided through a web of lies, allegations, and memories.

Media Satire with Jim Carrey, Laura Linney and Noah Emmerich | June 4th 8:15 PM | Saturday 1, gold

This is what it’s about: Truman Burbank (Jim Carrey) lives a seemingly normal life in the small town of Seahaven. What Truman doesn’t know: He lives in a perfect fantasy world. Seahaven is a Disneyland with a claim to reality. Houses, sea, horizon: every scene. The stars, the weather, the traffic, the people: all subject to a scenario that only Truman had any idea it existed.

Worth watching for the following reasons: Director Peter Weir (“Dead Poets Society”, “Green Card”) produced a film suitable for audiences with “The Truman Show”, which is difficult to assign to a literary genre. It stands somewhere between comedy, drama and social criticism. One can view it as an example of the process of self-discovery for modern humans, or as a reflection of the media’s manipulation of our lives and their blending of fact and fiction.

Disney live-action adaptation of the classic movie starring Will Smith | Sunday June 05 8.15 pm | Saturday 1

This is what it’s about: Thief Aladdin falls in love with a young woman who turns out to be Princess Jasmine shortly afterwards. One day, Minister Jaafar assigned Aladdin to search for a magical lamp in the Cave of Wonders. It is said that Aladdin will be rewarded abundantly for this – but complications and betrayal ensue, and only thanks to the help of the magic carpet and the genie from the lamp can Aladdin escape. Then he wishes that the genie would make him a prince, because a princess is only allowed to marry a prince. His master’s wish is the command of the genie, but the new prince is a thorn in the side of Jafar…

Worth watching for the following reasons: 30 years ago Robin Williams play the genie. These are great strides that a successor must fill. with will Smith I found the right actor for that, because he brings his own flair and makes the character his own. As the Genie, he is the undisputed star of the movie.
