culture night

On Saturday, June 11, which brings cultural life back to the city center after a two-year hiatus due to Corona. Artists from a variety of genres perform on eight stages. One of the most exciting performances of the day is the concert by the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra at 8pm on the Market Square.

Flooot performs on the University Theater and Woggon at Wilhelmsplatz. The band describes their music as a “stylistic blend of hip-hop, reggae, pop, and all other types of dance”. And anyone who has heard them knows that their music is dynamic and powerful above all else. There is a lot going on.

Dance and martial arts

There are plenty of dance and martial arts shows at the “Sparda-Bank Hannover-Stiftung-Bühne” in Waageplatz. This program ends at a party in South America. At 8:45 p.m., Colombia-based Bazurto All Stars will perform and according to the organizers “one of the most important cumbia teams in Colombia”. They promise an “explosive show full of energy and dance”.

A week and a half ago, on Friday 3 June, the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra will be guests at the Göttingen Lochal in Bahnhofsale. “From Mozart to Gepidulin” is the title of the evening performed by Diliana Lazarova. Maciej Frąckiewicz Bajan (accordion) is a soloist. The evening begins at 7:45 pm.

Festival in front of the collegiate church

Gandersheim Cathedral Festival begins with two premieres. On Sunday, June 19 at 3 p.m., “Treasure Island” will be on the show for the first time as a family game. This is followed by the production of the big evening on Friday, June 24 at 8pm: the medieval classic “The Name of the Rose.” The historical detective novel Umberto Eco serves as a template. It was assigned to an Italian Benedictine monastery in 1327. The facade of the great collegiate church, in front of which has been the festival platform of Gandersheim Cathedral for decades, provides a convenient setting for theatre.

The German Theater (DT) in Göttingen gives its world premiere shortly before the end of the season. Title of the piece by Rebecca Kricheldorf and Hannah Random as commission: “Bardaw’s! Schnoopdeop! Clearbatch! Raboom!” The characters depicted by the great Wilhelm Bosch wander around the entire stage. “At their conference, they want to discuss the legacy of their creator, questions about the political correctness of their existence and old images of women,” DT reports. The premiere is scheduled for Friday, June 24 at 7:45 p.m.

In June, young talents reign at the Junges Theater. Offers of the game clubs are included in the program. On Sunday, June 12 at 3 p.m., ten to twelve year-olds from the Yola Club will present Between Worlds. The Youth Club is bringing the classic card game “Werewolves” to the stage with actors aged 16-20. Premiere on Wednesday, June 22nd at 7pm. At the end of the month, it was the turn of the wild club. Children ages 13 to 15 embark on an “criminal journey Agatha Christie style,” according to the Jungs Theater. The premiere is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29 at 7 p.m.

The “CarlSong” trio will present a new album on Friday, June 17, at Kulturscheune Rittmarshausen, Lindenberg 4. The jazz party begins at 9 p.m.

For 100 days, a group of Indonesian artists will present a massive amount of art from all over the world throughout the city. The season also begins in the cultural tent on the wire bridge in Kassel.
