Russian soprano Anna Netrebko wants to perform again in Germany. The canceled concert at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg in September is also scheduled to be rescheduled.

After performances in Monaco and Paris, Netrebko announced that this year she will be attending with her husband Yusef Eyvazov for concerts at Regensburg, the Cologne Philharmonic, and the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, among others. On their website, the concert was announced for September 7 unchanged. Shows are scheduled to continue in Frankfurt am Main, Vienna and Malmö next year.

Netrebko concerts canceled and postponed due to rapprochement with Putin

After the outbreak of the Ukraine war, the performances of the singer, who celebrated her fiftieth birthday with a party in the Kremlin in 2021 and supported the re-election of Putin as president in 2012, in Western Europe and the USA, were canceled.

Several weeks after the start of the war in Ukraine, Netrebko clearly distanced himself from the war and the Russian president in a statement issued on March 30 for the first time. “I expressly condemn the war against Ukraine and my thoughts are with the victims of this war and their families,” she said at the time, through her German lawyer. “My position is clear, I am not a member of any political party, I do not belong to any leader in Russia.”

In an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde on May 22, Anna Netrebko said that she supported Putin in 2012 because he did a lot for the arts and culture sector. In 2018, she no longer chose him.

Prosda and Liben Sutter are booked for spring

Hamburg’s Culture Senator Carsten Prosda called the dismissal of the star Sopranos from Russian President Putin at the beginning of April “unreliable”. In an interview at the end of February, Christoph Lieben-Sutter, Managing Director of Elbphilharmonie, emphasized that the responsibility for the ceremony did not lie with the Elbhilharmonie, but with River Concerts.

Diana Damrow: Don’t judge Netrebco

German soprano Diana Damrau warned against prejudice against Netrebko. Damrau told Augsburger newspaper: “In Russia, she has always been celebrated as a folk hero, it should be clear to everyone that this world superstar is the best figure ever. But none of us know what pressure Anna Netrebko was under and what subjected to it.” Gemayna.” The stick should not be hastily broken on anyone. In addition, Netrebko distanced himself.

Sharp criticism from Ukraine of the new offers of Netrebko

In Paris, 50-year-old Netrebko celebrated enthusiastically Wednesday evening after her concert at the Philharmonic Orchestra. She translated the works of Rachmaninov, Debussy and Tchaikovsky. The Ukrainian Embassy responded to Netrebko’s appearance with harsh criticism. The possibility of a concert is outrageous. The diplomatic mission said on Twitter that the rift between the French pro-Ukrainian public opinion and the hypocrisy of the public that praised the Kremlin’s soprano is sad. A few dozen protesters demonstrated against the concert in front of the Paris Philharmonic Orchestra.

Netrebko was already on stage at the Monte Carlo Opera in Monaco last month. The sopranos live mainly in Austria.
