The Medieval Market and St Martin’s Market will be held in Knowledge on November 6 and 7, organized by Meeting Point Knowledge. The hustle and bustle of the colorful market offers delicious cuisine and many attractions. In addition, on Sundays it is open for sale and the festival concludes with the parade of the great Martin.
Knowledge. There is a lot happening on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 November in Wissen. This is the time when visitors to the city can immerse themselves in the world of the Middle Ages and find the many attractions on the Rathausstrasse and in the pedestrian zone. The market is open on Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm and on Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.
Saturday program (from 11 am to 9 pm)
Starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, about 25 medieval kiosks with robes, jewelry, wooden toys, soap, mulberry wine, children’s paraphernalia, and many other goods invite you to the colorful medieval hustle and bustle in front of Weissensee’s town hall. Peasants, bow makers, leather craftsmen, and many more show how people worked in the Middle Ages and invited children to join in.
Jugglers, games and musical entertainment on historical instruments will ensure a relaxing atmosphere. And of course we will also take care of your physical health through good food.
The official and festive opening of the market will take place at 1 pm with Aktionsgemeinschaft Treffen Wissen and Mayor Berno Neuhoff. The market is open until 9 pm on Saturdays.
Sunday program (from 11 am to 6 pm)
The traditional Martinsmarkt, which dots the lower Rathausstrasse and pedestrian area on Sundays, will complete the medieval market. Stand with spices, household goods, jewelry, leather goods, oil paintings and much more then we invite you too.
On this business day, there will also be a drinks kiosk at the Meeting Point Knowledge in the redesigned plaza in front of the former post office. As a special treat for younger guests there are free tickets (sponsored by bueroboss.de/hoffmann) for the Children’s Circle. The carousel can be found on the market square in the pedestrian zone.
In addition to all the hustle and bustle of stalls and stalls, shops are also open for sale from 1pm to 6pm on Sundays and invite you to stroll and enjoy specials and bargain prices.
On Sundays, visitors will have the opportunity to be vaccinated against Corona without prior registration. The vaccination bus is available from 10 am to 6 pm in the lower Rathausstrasse.
Traditionally, the Martinsmarkt is rounded off with the arrival of St. Martin. It arrives at the market square on horseback from 3 pm and offers the children wake up men. At 6 p.m., the children gather there with their lanterns for the St. Martin’s Parade. It leads to Schützenplatz, where the Great Martin Fire is lit.
The Knowledge Gathering Venue, which organized the expedition, is looking forward to many guests on its two days of autumnal activity full of Knowledge. (Cathepi)
