It is one of the longest-running series on German television: the ZDF crime series “Der Alte”. Over the course of 45 years, there have already been many changes in actors and characters.
Episode 450 aired on Friday. She was the winner of the ratings again. An average of 4.95 million tuned in – although all the Friday thriller episodes can now be found in the ZDF media library a week before they air.
In the first 100 episodes from 1977 to 1986, Siegfried Luitz (“The Hidden Claws of Dr. Mabuse”) played Chief Inspector Erwin Koster. He was shot in the end. From 1986 to 2008, Rolf Schimpf (“It Doesn’t Have to Be Caviar”) played his successor, Leo Kris.
A new “era” is coming
Walter Cree held the position of Rolf Herzog until 2012. Since then, Jean-Gregor Krim has been the title champ like Richard Voss. Ten years later, Crimp, 59, should soon be over – and he’ll give Thomas Heinz, 58, the new “old man.” Filming will start in the summer.
Supporting characters in “The Old” such as Commissioner Gerd Heyman (Michael Andy), who was there from 1977 to 2016, or actors such as Charles M. Huber (1986 to 1997) and Pierre Sanusi Bliss (1997 to 2015) have enriched the series. “Continuity and constant updating from the book’s work to appearance characterize the format from the start,” ZDF recently described its same series.
In Germany, crime series is among the most watched and, in some cases, the longest-lived television format of all time. ARD series “Tatort” (since 1970) and “Polizeiruf 110” (since 1971, initially as GDR production) are the best proof of this. The Sunday Crimes series is a series made up of different teams in different cities and regions, where there are constant changes in people.
Long Life TV Formats
Some series or series have been shown in this country for decades, including the series “SOKO Munich”, which has been running for 44 years, 38 of them under the title “SOKO 5113” and with variable participants, but for a long time with Werner Krindel and Wilfried Krause.
After all, ZDF series like “Bella Block” with Hannelore Hoger (1994 to 2018) or “Derrick” (1974 to 1998) ran for 24 years. Their lead actor Horst Tapper came with 281 episodes during this time. His assistant Harry Klein, performed by Fritz Weber, previously participated in the series “Der Commissar”.
“Alarm for Cobra 11 – The Autobahn Police” has been on RTL for 26 years, “Wilsberg” on ZDF for 27 years and “Strong Team” for 28 years. The ARD series “Großstadtrevier” has been in operation for more than 35 years. (dpa)
