TC Tobacco Hakenfelde invites you to a tasting session. Um, gourmet training? in tobacco? “Contrary to what the name of the club might suggest, we are all non-smokers of course athletes,” Andreas Pfeiffer Tennis Club wrote in its club log and invites interested parties to get to know each other on April 30 (11 a.m.). until 4 p.m.). And where did the name come from? “The name is based on our history, and it goes back a long way. In 1967, I founded 27 “cigarette rollers” in Spandau founded IG Tennis within a sports federation for a large subsidiary of BAT” – an acronym that refers to the giant British American Tobacco group. Now you know, you say it on the record. And this club not only has an interesting past, but also has its home in Werderstraße – and is looking for new people who want to play tennis. Here is an aerial view on Google Maps. Near the corner is the new construction district “Pepitahöfe”. It’s not far from Wasserstadt either. “Sporting events can begin immediately for beginners and advanced,” Andreas Pfeiffer wrote to me. “The family-friendly club provides rackets and balls these days, which makes getting started especially easy. On both days you can get to know the club and tennis better. Among other things, a B license coach will be on site.” Who would like to try the sport with their kids?
