Niedereschach: This is how the chapter on the petrol paper works: Niedereschacher knows it now

Given the terrible fuel prices, it is a topic currently on the minds of many motorists: electric mobility is on everyone’s lips. But how does it actually work with and around the electric vehicle? The people of Niederreich were able to learn more about this at a citizens’ evening.

There were already many questions at the auto show on the topic of e-mobility

There were already many questions at the auto show on the topic of e-mobility

From the cute little Fiat 500e to the luxurious 400-hp BMW X5 Hybrid SUV, a number of well-known cars in the e-mobility field were represented in front of Eschachhalle. The local branch Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Niedereschach invited the citizens’ evening with the theme “Electric Mobility”.

Many want to disconnect from the combustion engine

In front of Eschachhalle, everyone had the opportunity to examine the currently most popular mobile phone both outside and inside, even driving it to get answers to all questions on the topic by experts. Because especially against the background of current discussions about the massive increase in energy costs and above all fuel prices in connection with the Ukraine war, more and more drivers are thinking about getting rid of their combustion engines.

One project, many questions

They deal with questions like: What should you consider when buying an electronic mobile phone? What are the subsidies there? Are there enough charging stations? Are electric cars really green, cheaper or more expensive? Can an electric car be charged with electricity generated from the roof of your house?

Here is a man talking with an electric car

These questions and everything related to electric cars were answered in the keynote address that followed at Otto Sieber Hall. Jörg Deskowski, who is also a party member of the local Greens Association and has own an electric car himself for nearly two years, shared his experiences so far and answered visitors’ questions.

Diskowski reports on his past experiences with his small electric car, with a 108-hp engine, and a 52-kilowatt-hour battery. He uploads them once a week and that’s quite enough for his needs, according to the spokesperson. Heating the seat and steering wheel doesn’t matter in the winter, and you won’t even notice it anymore. In his case, the financing includes up to maintenance, and the days of a regular oil change and the like are over.

“I stay away from many gasoline engines when accelerating.”

Jörg Deskowski, proud e-car owner

According to Jörg Diskowski, the biggest advantage of electric cars is that the electric motor instantly puts its full horsepower on the road. In turn, a car with an internal combustion engine must first be moved up through different gears. “I move away from many petrol engines when accelerating,” says the proud e-car owner.

A range of 350 kilometers in the summer is more than enough for him, and nowadays you can view all charging stations on the road on your cell phone. In the future, they can be automatically booked for longer trips. Current technical development will not rule out ranges of up to 900 kilometers in the near future, according to Green.
