What M-net participants need to know in 2022 – Augsburg

The event will take place two years after the outbreak of Corona in 2022. This information should be known to competing runners.

On June 2, 2022, M-net Augsburg, the largest popular sporting event in Swabia, will be held for the eleventh time. With 2020 running completely virtually and in 2021 in virtual form with real action points on site, the 2022 race will be run as a hybrid run. So there will be a virtual race again, but also, as in the years before Corona, there will be a head-to-head race with the start and finish at the trade fair. As the organizing company, km Sport-Agentur, now reports, the decision has been made to conduct the head-to-head run in any event.

This is the reason why this year’s race started to exist

According to the current registration status, about 4,700 participants were registered in the 5.3-kilometre running race with start and finish at the Augsburg Exhibition Centre. Even if this does not meet the minimum number of participants of 5,000 originally stated by the organizer and was necessary for economic reasons, the organizer KM Sport-Agentur has now decided to create facts and set up the 11th M-net on June 2. 2022: “After two years of pandemic conditions, we would like to finally offer runners what makes M-net running Augsburg so attractive: the special atmosphere before the start, the joint competition, the atmosphere in the stadium and the combined concert with a live concert in the exhibition center after crossing the finish line! We are now pleased to be able to give the green light for the event!” Katja Meyer of KM Sport-Agentur in Stadtbergen, initiator and organizer of the event, explains about the decision. For reasons of protection against infection, the KM Sport Agency has set the maximum number of starting positions this year at a maximum of 8000. There is no upper limit for default running. So those who want to participate can decide for themselves whether they prefer to participate in the shared experience at the fair or to run alone.

This is how the event in Augsburg works

The beginning and end of the operation of the M-net company is again located in the Augsburg Exhibition Centre. Walk clockwise through the Innovationspark, Burgermeister-Ulrich-Straße and Schmelzer Breitenweg and back to the exhibition centre. At 5.3 kilometres, the distance that runners must complete this year is shorter than usual: this is made necessary by changing the layout of the route on the north side of the Innovation Park.

For all participants there is again this year a starter package with a starting number and

Donations from sponsors. At the end, each runner gets a final medal and a refreshment with various drinks, baked goods and fruits. The organizers are also planning the after-party with a live concert in the open air.
